ASF is the Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR, an Australian Tax Office status) fund of AusSchol Inc, an Australian tax exempt charitable organisation registered in New South Wales. AusSchol (ABN: 83-420-919-581) manages and operates ASF.
The AusSchol Council is governed by its Constitution as an incorporated association. The Council’s scheduled meetings are normally six times during the year and it also meets whenever necessary to deal with specific matters requiring attention between scheduled meetings. All Councillors, other than the Executive Director and Secretary, are non-executive, independent of management and free from any business, interest or other relationship that could materially influence the exercise of their independent judgment. They have a broad mix of skills and experience in education and training, nonprofit organisations and business relevant to ASF’s activities. No Councillors receive remuneration for the exercise of their duties, but out of pocket expenses may be reimbursed. A small number of distinguished Australians with both an affinity and experience in the business, educational and non profit sectors across the nation, have been appointed for two-year terms to ASF’s Advisory Panel. The Advisory Panel provides ASF and the AusSchol Council with advice, guidance and an independent perspective on activities, projects and initiatives of ASF, assists in the identification of needs and priority setting for ASF programs, and highlights opportunities for nonprofit capability development. No Panel members receive remuneration from AusSchol.
